Judge Jay Severin showing empathy?
“Clark Rockefeller” was convicted today of kidnapping his daughter. In a live interview with WTKK’s Michele McPhee, Jay repeatedly played “devil’s advocate” and wondered whether many sane men, if faced with the loss of a child, might attempt a similar abduction. Jay was careful not to say that he thought parental kidnapping could ever be [...]

Jay Severin’s manners may have improved, but not his logic
In discussing Judge Sotomayor yesterday, Jay noted that the judge had said something to the effect of “I am an affirmative action baby. My test scores were not good enough to get me into the Ivy League schools I attended because the tests were culturally biased.” Jay then asked what would happen if a radio [...]

Who is this guy impersonating Jay Severin?
I don’t understand. In the 4:00 hour today, Jay talked about drunk driving. While his views are extreme (he recommends capital punishment for repeat offenders), I didn’t hear him saying anything insulting or illogical. Then in his 5:00 monologue he is astonished and confused by the Supreme Court decision on the recusal of elected judges. [...]

Has Jay Severin found his mind?
Is it possible that a little R&R actually did Jay Severin some good? This is the man, you may recall, who belittled “ho-ho-homosexual marriage” by saying that a man could no more marry a man than he could marry a penguin. This is the man who, in an attempt to ridicule two callers named Dave [...]

Roster of online Jay Severin critics is growing
Looks like this idea of publicly calling out Jay Severin’s errors and omissions may be catching on. Yesterday Scott Lehigh called for reports of Severin’s incivility. Then Dan Kennedy responded with an example of what in my mind is a much greater sin: misleading his audience. A caller ripped the media for hounding poor Sarah [...]

Jay Severin is back, and Scott Lehigh is watching
A couple items from today’s Boston Globe: “With apology and barbs, Severin returns to the air” by David Abel “Let’s help Severin clean up his act” by Scott Lehigh I’m afraid I don’t have time to comment right now (I’m not getting paid to do this, you know) but I did want to go on [...]

How will Jay Severin live?
There is a lot of speculation that Jay’s return to the airwaves will be accompanied by a pay cut. If that’s true, I wonder if we’ll be seeing his house on the market soon. After all, Jay swore to us last year that he lives “pretty much paycheck to paycheck.” That would imply that a [...]
